When can I register?

Registration opens September 23 at noon and closes November 4 at noon. Late registrations will not be considered.

Who can complete a registration?

We ask that the caregiver of the child complete the form. If you are not the caregiver, please forward the referral form to the caregiver.

Who is eligible for Christmas assistance?

Priority is given to children in foster and kinship care with an open DHHS case. Additional documentation is required for children who do not have an open DHSS case.

Does my child need to come to the event?

Yes — the child must be present at the event to receive Christmas assistance. We offer multiple dates and locations so you can choose a time that works for your family.

My child is medically fragile — do I need to tell you?

Yes, please let LOTC know when you schedule your appointment so we can plan accordingly.

What if a registered child moves out of my home before the event?

Please email blakeg@lotcarolinas.com right away so we can update our records.

I have more than one eligible child — how do I register them?

Each eligible child must be entered as separate registrations.

How are appointments scheduled?

We schedule appointments first come, first served based on sign-up order. The earlier you sign up, the sooner we'll call — and the better your chance at your preferred appointment time.

How do I know my registration went through?

Please don't call the office to confirm — check your email for a confirmation instead. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder too, as our emails sometimes end up there.

How will LOTC contact me?

We will attempt to reach you up to 4 times via text, call, or email. If we're unable to reach you in a timely manner, we may not be able to serve your child.

Why is responding quickly so important?

We expect to serve over 1,000 children this Christmas season. Your quick response helps us make sure every child on our list gets served — thank you for helping us make this possible!

🎁 IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTINUING
  • Gift value: Each child will receive gifts up to a $100 value.
  • Rank your child's wish list: Please list your child's wishes in order of priority, numbered Wish List Item 1, 2, 3, etc. If your child really wants a bike, that should be Wish List Item 1 — the sponsor will do their best to fulfill items in the order you rank them.
  • Describing items: Please give a business/brand name and item description (example: "Nike sneakers, size 5" or "Barbie Dreamhouse"). Do not include a web link to a specific item — the sponsor will use your description to find a comparable item and cannot guarantee an exact match. For clothing, please include sizes and favorite brand.
  • Not allowed: Gift cards, cell phones, laptops, tablets, computers, items over $100 in value, or gaming systems. (Games and gaming accessories ARE allowed.)
  • Item limit: The form collects up to 6 items. Your child may still receive more than 6 gifts if items are related (example: a doll plus accessories) or if additional clothing items are included.

Confirmation & submit

This confirmation must be sent to the adult(s) responsible for bringing the child to the event. Please make sure the mobile number and email address you provide belongs to the adult who will personally be attending with the child — this ensures they receive important event details, appointment updates and reminders.
